    Last updated: August 3, 2026

    1. Introduction

Alternative Fire Protection Services ("we," "us," "AFP") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the rights you have regarding it. It applies to information collected through our website at https://alternativefire.com, our contact and estimate-request forms, our SMS messaging program, and any related services.

If you have questions after reading this policy, contact us at [email protected].

    2. What Information Do We Collect?

We collect information you voluntarily provide when you request an estimate, contact us, subscribe to updates, or purchase services, including:

    • Name
    • Phone number
    • Email address
    • Mailing / service address
    • Job title or company (for commercial clients)
    • Contact preferences
    • Payment information, when you purchase services (processed by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers)

We also collect limited technical information automatically when you visit our website (such as browser type, pages visited, and general location), as described in the Cookies section below.

    3. How Do We Use Your Information?

    We use your information to:

    • Respond to your estimate requests and inquiries
    • Schedule, perform, and follow up on fire-protection services and inspections
    • Send administrative and service communications
    • Send SMS messages you have opted into (see Section 12)
    • Send marketing communications you have opted into
    • Process payments and maintain records
    • Comply with legal, licensing, and fire-code obligations
    • Improve our website and services

    4. Will Your Information Be Shared With Anyone?

    We share personal information only:

    • With service providers who help us operate our business (scheduling software, payment processing, website hosting), under obligations to protect your data
    • With your consent, when you direct us to share it
    • To perform a contract with you
    • To comply with law, such as licensing, safety, or legal requirements
    • To protect vital interests, such as emergency safety situations

This sharing does not apply to SMS data. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third parties for their own purposes, and never for marketing. Phone numbers and SMS consent are disclosed only to service providers acting solely on our behalf to deliver the messages you requested. We do not sell your personal information. See Section 12 for our full SMS data commitments.

    5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website uses cookies in four categories:

    • Essential cookies — required for the site to function
    • Analytics/performance cookies — help us understand how the site is used
    • Functionality cookies — remember your preferences
    • Targeting/advertising cookies — used to show relevant advertising

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings and through our cookie banner, which lets you accept all cookies or essential cookies only.

    6. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law (for example, records related to fire-code inspections and licensing). When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

    7. How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?

We use organizational and technical security measures designed to protect your personal information, including secure systems for storing contact and messaging data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.

    8. Do We Collect Information from Minors?

We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

    9. What Are Your Privacy Rights?

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

    • Request access to the personal information we hold about you
    • Request corrections to inaccurate information
    • Request deletion of your information
    • Opt out of marketing communications at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected] or by mail at the address in Section 14.

    10. Do California Residents Have Specific Privacy Rights?

Yes. California residents have specific rights under California law, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising those rights. California residents may submit requests using the contact details in Section 14.

    11. Controls for Do-Not-Track Features

Some browsers include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature. Because no uniform standard for DNT signals has been adopted, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals.

    12. How Do We Handle Customer Data for SMS Messaging?

This section describes our practices for the phone numbers and messaging data we collect for our SMS program.

No sharing of phone data for marketing. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or SMS conversation data with third parties for their marketing purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except with service providers acting on our behalf solely to deliver the messages you requested.

What we collect and why. We collect phone numbers so we can send the SMS messages you opted into, which may include appointment reminders, estimate confirmations, inspection-due notices, service updates, customer-support replies, account notifications, and — only with separate marketing consent — promotional offers.

Your consent. You only receive SMS messages if you affirmatively opted in. Opt-in checkboxes on our forms are unchecked by default. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

Message and data rates. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.

Opt-out and help. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, CANCEL, END, QUIT, or UNSUBSCRIBE to any message. For assistance, reply HELP or contact us directly. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Data protection and your rights. SMS data is stored in secure systems. You may request access to your data, request corrections, or request that we delete it entirely by contacting us at [email protected].

Our full SMS program terms are published at https://alternativefire.com/sms-terms.

    13. Do We Make Updates to This Policy?

Yes, we may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and becomes effective when published. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.
